Greek inscription " Lord Jesus , grave of Bishop Athanasios " s tomb stone from the 5th century, From Kherbet Alsamra , 40 km east of Amman . The stone is enclosed in the main altar .

June 2001- Removing church furniture in order to start restoration works
June 2001- Covering floor tiles with gypsum to protect from damage
June 2001- Removing old rainwater drains from the old roof
June 2001-Removing old eternit (asbestos) sheets from the roof
June 2001- Old wooden trusses under the stripped eternit sheets ( asbestos) will be replaced by stronger steel trusses to support new loads from red tils and gypsum board ceiling
July 2001-The old roof completely stripped , revealing works performed 80 years ago
July 2001- Old arches supporting the main girder of the old roof still in very good condition
July 2001- timber working platform to facilitate placing new steel beams for the new red tiles roof
July 2001- Rev. Hanna Kildani Parish Priest discussing with Decorator ( in the middle) and Electrical Engineer( to the left) new contemplated decorative features
August 2001-Consulting Engineer Samir Saad inspecting timber supports under red tiles
August 2001-Red tiles placed over the lower part ( left ) of the church ceiling

August 2001 : " Tognana Laterizi " Italian red tiles replaced the old asbestos sheets
